Pregnancy Physiotherapy
Pregnancy is a time of significant physical change. As your pregnancy progresses, changes in your body can sometimes lead to pain, discomfort or pelvic floor symptoms.
Pregnancy physiotherapy provides personalised assessment, advice and support to help you understand what is happening and what you can do to help manage your symptoms.

What happens during your assessment?
Your first appointment is a chance to talk openly about how you are feeling and what you would like help with.
We'll discuss your symptoms, medical history, pregnancy and lifestyle, as well as any activities that are becoming difficult or uncomfortable.
I will then carry out a physical assessment relevant to your symptoms. This may include looking at your posture, movement, breathing, abdominal muscles, pelvic floor function or other areas depending on what you are experiencing.
Your assessment will always be tailored to you and your stage of pregnancy.
What happens after your assessment?
Once we have completed your assessment, I will explain my findings in clear, straightforward language and answer any questions you have.
Depending on your needs, your treatment may include advice about movement and exercise, pelvic floor exercises, relaxation and breathing techniques, strategies for managing pain and guidance around your everyday activities.
The aim is to help you feel more confident in understanding your body and managing your symptoms throughout pregnancy.
You do not have to put up with pain...
Pregnancy can bring aches and changes to your body, but this doesn't mean that you simply have to accept pain or discomfort as part of pregnancy.
If something doesn't feel right, is affecting your sleep or daily activities, or is stopping you from doing the things you enjoy, a pregnancy physiotherapy assessment can be a useful first step.
