Who can benefit from seeing a Women's Health Physiotherapist?
You do not have to wait for there to be a 'problem' or life event in order to see me. I treat women 18+ with a range of symptoms.
4
Do I need a referral from my GP or Consultant?
I am a self referral basis, there is no need for a formal consultant referral.
5
I leak when I exercise, run, cough or sneeze - can you help?
Physiotherapy is recommended by the NICE Guidelines as the first line of treatment for stress urinary incontinence. I can help to guide you through the treatment and options for this.
6
Can I see you during pregnancy (antenatally)?
I am able to review antenatal ladies. We can review any pregnancy related pain, prolapse symptoms, urinary symptoms or concerns and other questions you may have. The only thing I do not complete during pregnancy is internal digital vaginal examinations (DVE).
7
When should I have a postnatal check?
Many women benefit from an assessment from 6 weeks onwards, for guidance with their pelvic floor exercises, pelvic floor symptoms and guidance for return to higher impact exercise.
8
Can you help after a C-Section?
I am able to complete a full assessment regardless of how baby was delivered. C-Section recovery can include scar treatment and mobility, rebuilding strength and returning to activity.
9
What qualifications do you have?
I have a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, have completed courses with the POGP, APPI and continue to develop with regular monthly CPD in order to maintain and refresh my knowledge in this specialist area of physiotherapy.
10
What should I expect at my first appointment?
I am fully mobile, which means appointments will be in the comfort of your own home. We will discuss your current symptoms and work through a comprehensive assessment relating to your symptoms. We can complete an examination where clinically appropriate, and with your consent, and start a treatment plan with next steps.
I treat from a whole-person approach and always prioritise your wellbeing. If there is anything that you would like me to be aware of, or do not want to discuss, you can make me aware of this during, or before your appointment.
11
Can you help with pain during intercourse (sex)?
Pain with intercourse is a common symptom that I manage with women. I am able to approach this in a sensitive and empathetic manner to enable you to feel supported and comfortable discussing your concerns.
12
Are internal examinations imperative to treatment?
Whilst internal examinations are a helpful adjunct to my assessment, they are completely optional. Examinations are only ever completed with full, informed consent throughout the process. We discuss this at your appointmen

How do I book?
Please complete the forms on the website, or reach out on social media, phone or email - I will contact you to book.
I am my own admin, therefore I need to ensure that there is enough time for appointments and travel time between!

I am interested in Pilates - tell me more!
I offer group and 1:1 pilates options.
Group classes are advertised in blocks on my social media, and I will endeavour to upload to the website. I sell classes as blocks, to allow for appropriate progression and education topics. We are currently running a Pelvic Health, Menopause + Pilates Class for the second time, with great success.
If you would prefer a 1:1 then please get in contact and I can arrange this with you. If you or a friend are interested in smaller, shared pilates sessions, this is also possible.
